JOB DESCRIPTION
Orcawise is looking for PhD Researchers to join our innovative team and contribute to cutting-edge work in Agentic AI, Custom LLMs, and Bias Monitoring Algorithms. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate on real-world AI challenges while advancing research at the intersection of ethics, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs).

As a PhD Researcher, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers, data scientists, and legal experts, developing solutions that uphold Orcawise’s mission of delivering Responsible AI. Your work will directly impact industries like finance, law, and technology while contributing to ethical AI practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct advanced research on Agentic AI systems, including their architecture, decision-making processes, and real-world applications.
• Develop and fine-tune Custom LLMs for domain-specific use cases, ensuring scalability and alignment with Responsible AI principles.
• Design and implement Bias Monitoring Algorithms to detect and mitigate bias in AI systems, improving fairness and transparency.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at conferences to contribute to the AI research community.
• Collaborate with Orcawise teams to translate research into deployable AI solutions for clients.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and Responsible AI practices to incorporate cutting-edge methodologies.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to Orcawise’s knowledge-sharing initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Educational Background: PhD (or near completion) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Research Expertise: Proven track record of research in one or more areas:
  • Agentic AI (e.g., autonomous systems, AI agents).
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) and LLM development.
  • Bias Detection and Mitigation in AI systems.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face).
  • Experience with data preprocessing, model training, and algorithm evaluation.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to approach challenges methodically.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork and presenting research to diverse audiences.

PREFERRED

• Publications in AI, NLP, or ethics-related journals or conferences.
• Experience integrating AI research into real-world applications or working with industry partners.
• Familiarity with Responsible AI principles and ethical AI frameworks.
